Pricing did not get rediculous at the R6 II. 2899€ is in the region of some (better equipped) of it´s competitors.
I´m sorry to hear that US$ to € ration is good on the R6 (1:1,16) which includes our taxes, but definitively worser on the 135mm RF L (1:1,28). It is almost 1150€ more expensive than the GM from Sony.
The Combo body&135mm is 4100€ for Sony (7AIV&135mm GM) and 5600€ for R6 II & RF 135mm... o_O

I am still hoping an better US$ exchange rate for R5 II and R1. I Know, I know: Hope is the last to die! :giggle:

I preordered an EL-5, which looks like a 600EX but with the new shoe and a rechargeable battery like the EL-1.

Long wait, but it’s not like my current set of four 600’s can’t get the job done.
I'm sticking with my 470 AI, mostly because I like the head moving around like magic.

Since there is mark II, they could change to improve HDMI C mini instead of HDMI D micro.
Still, when connecting an HDMI cable, you cannot record to cards only to an external device. There is no such thing in Sony. During transmission, I connect the HDMI to SDI converter and record it in the camera as a copy. Here it is impossible for me to fail.

The rumor was cropped 4k60. B&H makes it sound like 4k60 is full width but not oversampled. DPReview is repeatedly saying that the 4k60 is oversampled from 6k. It's obvious the rumor was wrong, but I wonder if it's really oversampled at 60p?
    Canon says:
    • 6K oversampled uncropped 4K movie at up to 60 fps

    Australia mate (-:
Wow Canon Australia is really price gouging down under. Up until last week, the price differential between a Canon EOS R6 (original) body only and EOS R6 (original) body kit bundled with RF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM was AUD$1,500 yet now the price difference between EOS R6 Mark II body only and EOS R6 Mark II body kit bundled with RF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM is AUD$1,900 ergo a $400 jump between original and Mark II kit with the same lens. The Canon RF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM on it's own is AUD$1,999 and has been so for some time so there used to be a 500 buck saving on the lens buying as a kit, now it's only a 100 bucks saving... that to me is a blatant ripoff. I like the new body and when I heard the Mark II was coming I was hoping it would have the Canon RF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM bundled for the same extra AUD$1,500 which is the same price as the SIGMA equivalent but if the kit now throws a 400 buck penalty, if I get a R6 Mark II I'll probably only buy the body and get the excellent SIGMA 24-105mm F4 instead of the Canon and pocket the 400 bucks. Ball's in your court Canon.

Admittedly I haven't read through all the online releases & reviews for the R6 mkII...
But I would like to know if anyone has knowledge about the Silent Shutter and some of its specs and functions...

    • Are there any slower frame rates than 40 FPS or is just Single Shot & 40 FPS?
    • Is there an audio "Click" sound as in the R3 - I find that to be very reassuring when firing off bursts

There probably isn't an online manual up somewhere yet is there

    UPDATE:
After doing a bit more digging I answered my own questions.
    • Electronic Shutter has 3 high speed modes. 40, 20, & 5 FPS
    • Sadly no audio click (not a deal killer, but a nice option to have)

The again I'm still waiting for Exposure Simulation (for stills) to include a Zebra pattern for over exposure - If they can do it for video why not for stills?

Kai Wong’s preview shows the R6 ii having a ‘drum machine sound’ in electronic shutter mode which sounds a lot like the R3’s … check here around 4:25!

Having a slower frame rate for electronic shutter is a very nice feature, I’m not a huge fan of R5/6 having only 20fps or single shooting!
